Stylish finds thus far in 2023

Well, it’s only February and I have already done quite a bit of traveling. It’s been a real whirlwind and I have no plans to stop anytime soon! What I have discovered along the way are some pretty FABULOUS new trends and articles of clothing + accessories and I’m excited to share with you…here we go!

For the Ski Bunny or cold climate snow birds

This Valentine’s Day Adam surprised me with a new coat from Moncler. I was quite taken with this gift especially since all I got him was silk pillow case! Moncler is a high end brand where you get the “you get what you pay for” quality. The material and hardware are so luxe and this particular coat is so stunning I want to sleep with it every night till the day I’m dead. Actually…you can bury me in it.

To pair with my new coat, I found the most fun puffer mittens I have ever seen! HOW CUTE?! I went with the iridescent white so they will match with whatever coat I’m wearing.

I have absolutely killed my ski goggles. They are about 5 years old and it’s time for a new pair! I’m heading on a ski trip tomorrow so I only had a couple of days to find a new pair that would arrive in time…and after reading several reviews, this pair happened to be on many different lists as the best, most economic pair! Perfect! These goggles an go over glasses which I need because I’m blind and don’t wear contacts and they are on Amazon Prime so I’ll receive in time. Woo!

Something that is very important to me while skiing is staying WARM. I have tons of sweaters, leggings, hats and jackets but I needed some more thermal tops to go underneath and provide an extra layer of warmth. When you get to Après for cocktails post skiing, you often have to remove layers so I’m always sensitive to the clothes I buy for skiing ensuring they are CUTE for this very reason. This ribbed, printed long sleeve is perfect for my upcoming trip to Aspen!

Speaking of extra layers of warmth, I own one thin black turtleneck and think it’s 100 years old. I was in desperate need of a new one. So I went with this simple yet comfy version from Alo.

For bundling up even further and of course for when that jacket comes off and you’re enjoying Champagne at Après, I LOVE this rainbow fleece! It is so cozy and effortless!

Not necessarily for skiing but definitely for the hockey rink, I needed (note the word needed is subjective!) a new puffer vest. So while shopping on Alo’s site I found this one that is a perfect fit and so chic!

I have a million sweaters. I really do. But I do not have any sweaters that say “Ski” and I have seen this design on so many different sites so I know it’s on trend. So I neeeeed it. This merino wool “obviously i’m skiing” sweater is perfect for layering on top of the ribbed long sleeve and under my coat so I’ll be extra warm in the 25 degree temps!

One big issue I have when going on a ski trip is with my shoes. I of course bring a big pair of clunky boots and those are to stay warm when schlepping to/from the mountain. But how about at night? I’m not wearing heels and many of my nicer boots for going out in are suede or leather - not good for snow! So I found these puffer boots that are platform (perfect for a shrimp like myself) and super on trend right now!

Let’s move on to spring although many of these items are also coming on my ski trip!

SPRING IS UPON US!

For starters, I’ve been in need of a new carry on. I have tons of carry on tote bags that I have used to death and my back is broken from each because they are totes…which means they go on one arm and the weight is not evenly distributed on your body. This time around, I’m going with a backpack! So much smarter and how cute is this puffer style that will go with any outfit all year round…!

I don’t work out BUT I like to wear work out clothes when I’m schlepping the kids to sports and all over the place. I also really love neon colors so was drawn to this top for the look, comfort and style. I also love when tops have the hole for your thumb. Makes it so much easier to put on with a jacket.

I used to only wear bikinis. But now I’m a mom of a teen and a tween and I’m OLD. So I no longer live in bikinis…but am into the one piece suits a little more these days. With that said, I look for the cutest styles that are still flattering for my little bod. I found this bathing suit and love that it’s not too high cut at the bottom and fully covered on top helping to block the sun but still look stylish.

I’m currently working on an event for clients where they’ll be gifting several athletic wear pieces to their guests and in sourcing I discovered two things: The brand Alo. I don’t work out so I had never heard of this brand. Apparently…all the rage. And I discovered drop arm tanks which are cute for wearing a bando or swim suit underneath! I found this fun leopard print drop tank that I just had to have for the upcoming (or currently in Florida) warm months.
