Spring Cake Toppers

Every time we go to shoot content in Florida, we make a list of all the real and Instagram holidays we want to shoot for, then I go and find inspiration and ideas of what we can do for each. So this year for the first day of spring, instead of dong a full on shoot I was inspired to do a DIY flower cake.

Maggie took the idea and ran with is…… here’s how she did!

STEPS

Make sure to check out Seri’s reel on Instagram for a step by step video on how to make these!

  1. Start by tracing a few circles on your water color paper, then begin drawing flowers within each to get a perfect shape

  2. Take your water colors wash all across the paper in a few different tones of the same color for some variation in flower petals and leaves

  3. Once dry, cut out all your shapes

  4. Use hot glue to layer your flower formations on top of each other and then round our the edges for a more organic look

  5. Finally, glue your flower tops to a wooden dowel and add leaves. (You can cut your dowels to different lengths like we did or leave them all at the same height!)

Once you’re done you can add these to cakes, cupcakes, or even keep them in vase to enjoy all of spring!

Happy First Day of Spring!
