A celebration for Galentine's

What is a “Galentine”? My husband asked me the other day….

A Galentine is a Girl or Gay Valentine…as defined by me.

Last week, I planned a little (very little), safe, gathering for a few friends here in my new neighborhood in Florida. Who do I know here? Not many people aside from the friend who I followed here, Gina, and two new friends who I made, Meghan and Nikki. Meghan and Nikki run an amazing home organization business called Order & Co. As soon as I met them, I hired them. I’m a very organized person but I am obsessed with organizing and wanted to see what they could do…and the one room in this house I was too lazy to organize myself - was my bathroom!

My bathroom consult with the Order & Co. gals doubled as a brainstorm sesh out on my back patio. It was GREAT. We talked about tons of ideas that we had to collaborate and help spread the word on each other’s businesses.

Women supporting Women. What’s better?!

We decided our first project would be a Galentine’s Day lunch. They had a client who offered up her gorgeous backyard and they put together the perfect guest list of entrepreneurial women.

From there we got to planning. Here’s how this backyard brunch went down…

To eat:
NO SHARING!
We worked with Graze 904 to serve individual charcuterie & cheese boxes that were absolutely darling and SO delicious! With cheese, crackers, meats, fruit, nuts and more, everyone enjoyed every last bite.
As an elevated touch, we set fresh shrimp cocktail in coupe glasses on each place setting for our guests to enjoy when they sat down.
As a sweet treat and take home favor (if you choose…) was a bag of ombre macarons by Nikki’s Treat Boutique.

To drink:
Maggie designed beautiful water bottle labels for me so I could set out a bucket of bottles for our guests to grab and go and avoid cross contamination on pouring out of a pitcher.

Love potions:
To “spike” things up, we brought in a Mixologist of Marlin and Barrel who stirred up three cocktails for all of us to try. Each one was more refreshing and delicious than the next.

There were so many gorgeous details that we used to decorate the patio such as these heart plates, customized menus, cards for guests to mail love notes out…

When the guests arrived, we greeted them with a tray of heart masks, champagne sanitizer and a glass of bubbly.

But the best part, was the balloon installation by Hennessy Events. I stumbled upon this cute, Bridget on Instagram and I couldn’t wait to find an excuse to work together. We had a stunning plan in place and it was all going perfectly until…the rain came down! UGH. What a damper! We’ll just have to work together again so you can see our magic come to life through the next special event.

I don’t think any of the ladies who were in attendance at our Galentine’s Day celebration had any clue what they were in store for that day. The joy, laughter, good eats, great company all made for the most perfect afternoon. I couldn’t have been more thrilled to spend some time with a fabulous group of adults and can’t wait to do it again soon.
