Yelp Jacksonville x The Social Society at the Nocatee Town Center
When I opened The Social Society I made some new, pretty fantastic friends and contacts, one being, Rachel who runs Yelp Jacksonville. Rachel is awesome. We have been able to connect over oysters and wine at some of her favorite restaurants and while she’s a great business contact, she’s also now a friend.
This March, Women’s History Month, Rachel and I decided to host a Yelp Jax x The Social Society Block Party. It was an absolute blast and I loved every minute of the planning process with Rachel because she’s so wonderful to work with.
Rachel and I worked to get several of my retail neighbors onboard to participate in this fun evening in the Nocatee Town Center and gather 100 Yelp Elites to sample food + drinks from some of the restaurants and of course shop and meet the wonderful store owners in my plaza. We worked with Anejo, Chophouse Nocatee, V’s Barbershop, Really Good Beer Stop, Toytopia and Burn Boot Camp.
The turn out was incredible and the response to the event was even better. EVERYONE had a blast. My retail neighbors are the very best. Really Good Beer Stop used our Party People cups to serve their craft beers in and this was instant success in my mind as my thought when opening the store was to cross promote with all of my amazing friends within the plaza. The Yelpers started their journey at The Social Society where they checked in and got a “passport”. On this passport, all of the participating retailers were listed and the Yelpers had to go to each one to get it stamped. Once completed, they returned their passport to The Social Society where they received a free Socially Seri Trucker hat and their passport was entered to be drawn to win a prize bag full of a ton of awesome goodies from the participating retailers and Yelp.
I personally met so many wonderful people and was thrilled with the business and awareness to our store that was established from hosting this event. The attendees were so happy to have a fun night out, receive so many delicious and meaningful goodies and were a joy to chat with.
The best part of this event was that many of these Yelpers lived in my town, Nocatee and were so glad to finally have an event that was in their community.
I love hosting block parties, events and gathering the community and will continue to do so! I also love reading all of the reviews! Such joy this brings me.
