Thanksgiving Round up: Best Tables & Tips

Thanksgiving is so soon! Who's ready? I'm not! I have to plan my menu, design my table, make my shopping lists, oy!

I have a feeling there are many of you in the same boat as me so I'm rounding up my favorite tables and tip to get help us all prep for the upcoming Turkey Holiday.

Let's start with our tables last year because oh em gee. Were these not amazing? Here's mine...

I went with heathered grey linens, copper chairs and black matte utensils.  I mean seriously guys? I can't.  I just love this table so much. I also printed "What are you Thankful For?" cards and put them on everyone's place setting with a pencil. Each guest filled the card out anonymously and then I mixed them up, passed them out and we guessed who it was that wrote them. Was so sweet to hear what people wrote and it was such a fun activity at the dinner table!

Then there's Michelle's table. Painted pumpkins and matching flowers? Um...to die for right?!

Michelle also hosted a stunning Friendsgiving dinner last year and my favorite part about her tablescape here is the customized ornaments at each place setting. How smart is this?  Give your friends a personalized ornament at Thanksgiving that they can take home and hang on their tree for Christmas? Incredible.

I also love the custom menus that we designed on Tiny Prints with the personalized ornaments. I really love placing a menu on each place setting at a dinner party because it gives your guests the opportunity to check out what they are eating before it's served.

How about the kiddos?  Get them involved!  They love to help. My kids enjoy both cooking and setting the table so I get them involved as much as possible.

When we host a large group I usually set a separate table for the kids and this is 100% my son's job to put together.

How about a few tips for ya? The easiest of them all is finding unexpected items for serving out of. For example, a squash, pumpkin or acorn can be hollowed out and used as a bowl for olives, nuts, cheese, etc.

How about hosting a Friendsgiving cocktail party instead of a sit down dinner? Serve light bites and cocktails making the party a little less formal but still tons of fun.

Don't want to blow your budget on a fancy party? Then don't! Make it a potluck. Ask everyone to bring a side dish, wine and/or dessert while you provide the protein (a roast chicken or turkey for example).

Hope this helps bring it all together for you. Now I gotta get moving on making my Thanksgiving dinner come to life. Gobble Gobble!
