Natalie's February Favorites

This month has been a little slow for me in terms of buying. I am still recovering from the Christmas madness, where I spent wayyyy too much. I can’t help it - I love gift giving!

On this months list is a lot of practical items that have impacted my daily life along with a few fun things that are totally not necessary, just fun to have or do. So as always, check out what I think about everything below and be sure to check out previous months recommendations!

Gone with the Gin - So my boyfriend has recently gotten into pairing drinks with films he loves. He’s a huge film nerd and having a drink that goes with the film just makes the movie going experience more enjoyable for him! So thats why for Valentine’s Day this year I decided to pick up this book for him. It has lots of famous movies like the Breakfast Club, Indiana Jones, even Harry Potter. All the recipes inside all have names that are in some way related to the movie. It definitely makes our movie nights a little more interesting!

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream - I don’t know about you guys but the past few weeks my skin has been unbearably dry. I’m sure it all has to do with the fact that its winter, and we’re inside so much more this year. But seriously I don’t remember my skin ever being so dry that it hurt! Thats why this cream has been a life saver. It comes in a really large tub and instantly hydrates your skin. As soon as I’m out of the shower the first thing I do is lather this stuff all over me. I usually never say this but for my skin’s sake, I can’t wait for warmer weather.

Sur La Table Online Cooking Class - For Valentine’s Day this year since we were doing our best to stay at home, my boyfriend and I signed up for this sushi making class offered by Sur La Table online. I had taken a class in person at the beginning of 2020 (before the world shut down) for Seri’s birthday, and it was so fun. The online class was just as fun too and we were actually able to drink and chat the whole time as we followed along with the chef. The class was $29 plus the cost of ingredients, which for us came to about $30. So in total we paid $60 had one of the most memorable Valentine’s Day yet! We even talked about making it a tradition!

Portable Power Bank - One thing I can never live without again is a power bank. I have found them to be truly so handy. I’ve brought mine everywhere from on vacations, theme parks, to long event days. And guess what? Everyones always trying to steal it from me! The one I had been using broke after I dropped it so I decided to invest in a new one a few months ago during Amazon Prime Day. I got his heavy duty one that comes with not one but three charging ports!! It also come with a really nice case which I appreciate because it keeps the cord tucked away, and will hopefully prevent me from breaking this one.

Homebrew Starter Kit - This is probably the epitome of a quarantine hobby. As I’ve mentioned many times, I’m a true beer lover. So back in October we decided to start brewing our own because we had an old beer kit that someone had given my dad as a gift and that he never made. It was terrible. The beer was okay (it tasted kind of like soda or seltzer) but the kit itself was like an Easy Bake Oven type of basic machinery. So then we decided to invest in our first “real” brew kit. We ordered this one from Northern Brewer and have loved it so far. We’re on our second batch and both of them have been soooooo good!
