Before you know it summer will be over! So make sure you (safely) head to the beach before the seasons is over and we’re back to being inside! While I myself am more of a mountains type of gal, I have to admit there is no more relaxing day for me than a day in the sand with a pina colada in hand!

Keep reading to hear all of our favorite beach essentials!

What you bring to the beach really depends on who you’re going with. If its a relaxing beach day with my boyfriend, I make sure to bring some beers and towels to lay out. If I’m going with the fam, I bring games so we can keep busy! And if I’m going with my girlfriends I always pick up a few wine coolers! But no matter who I’m going with, I always make sure to bring the following items:

MAGGIE

Like anyone else, I love to feel the sand beneath my toes and smell the salty air of the beach. The sound of the waves crashing is so relaxing, but ultimately, I’m a lake girl at heart! So when I do go to the beach, I make sure to go prepared with my essentials so I can stay comfortable, hydrated and hopefully leave without a sunburn. Honestly, I’d love to say I’m the one who brings the umbrella or tent but I usually mooch off whoever is the experienced beach goer of the group!

Obviously going to the beach is no walk in the park because I have to pack for an army. My kids always have to bring goggles, boogie boards, balls to throw around, and so much more. But there is always a few things I pack for myself to make sure I get to enjoy my few minutes of relaxation.

SHAYLAN

The beach is my ultimate happy place. Literally can’t think of anything more relaxing than having my toes in the sand all day. Sun, surf and social distancing at it’s finest!

I have a ton of beach totes but my favorite is from Sea Bags in Maine - made from recycled sails! Here are the rest of my must-have items:

  • SPF - I do NOT mess around with the sun. I put this on every morning, beach day or not. In my beach bag I always have both this spray and this one (smells like vacation). I also love this mist for re-spritzing my face throughout the day, and this lip balm. Top it all off with a baseball hat and polarized shades

  • Beach chair and oversized towel

  • Beach blanket - admittedly not the chicest option, but I think this one is the best because it folds up nicely, is easy to weigh down with sand, and you can throw it in the laundry.

  • Portable speaker

  • Yeti mug filled with Tito’s and Polar seltzer and a cooler filled with water and summery beer

  • Turkey and/or peanut butter & fluff sandwiches, chips and twizzlers

  • Waterproof football

  • Love my Kindle paper white - super easy to read in the sun. I also subscribe to tons of magazines - I stock them up to binge at the beach and look forward to it all Spring.
