Spooky Dips and Halloween Kettle Chips
We’re total suckers for everything surrounding Halloween at Little Miss Party. We love to entertain our friends in the theme of this season, so when Seri suggested we do an afternoon in the country to celebrate Halloween, I jumped at the chance to get creative with our favorite snacks and decor.
First stop on the way to our perfect picnic location was a quaint farm stand. If you’re throwing a gathering in the fall, this is a necessary step. Not only do we just love to poke around all the beautiful pumpkins and gourds, but it’s a great place to grab your fresh produce, baked goods, and potted flowers to save yourself the step of baking and fussing with floral arrangements. We picked up a delicious pumpkin pie, sunflowers, and mums to decorate the table.
We find it’s the little touches, like topping the pie with a sunflower, that make the table feel so special. We filled in all the extra space with cozy pillows, glass pumpkins and skull jars to use for our Kettle Brand chips and original flavored dips.
Once our decor plan was in place, it was time for the good stuff- the snacks! Kettle Brand is our go-to chip for every gathering, because not only are they a crowd favorite, they also have a huge variety of flavors that we love to try. This year, we chose flavors that came in bags to match the season- Honey Dijon and Buffalo Bleu in orange, and our new favorite Salt & Fresh Ground Pepper in black. Can’t get any more festive than that! We got creative by making original recipes for dips to complement each flavor, and you can make them with the simple recipes below:
“Deadly” Hot Cream Cheese Dip
You will need:
• 1/2 package (4 oz.) cream cheese, softened
• 1/4 cup hot sauce
• 1/4 cup ranch dressing
• 1/4 cup blue cheese crumbles
Make it:
Simply soften your cream cheese by removing it from your fridge 30 minutes before preparation. Once you’ve done that, mix all ingredients, leaving about ⅛ cup of your blue cheese crumbles aside for topping. Do one final drizzle of your “bloody” hot sauce for extra zing and a sprinkle of blue cheese crumbles and you’re good to start dipping!
“Blood Red” Roasted Pepper Dip
You will need:
• 1 cup roasted red peppers
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• 8 ounces cream cheese
• 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
• 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Make it: Soften your cream cheese before prepping the dip for ease when mixing your ingredients. Chop up ¾ cup of the roasted red peppers into small pieces, leaving about ¼ cup in long strips. Add all ingredients to a bowl, mix well, and dispense into your favorite halloween serving vessel.
Sweet + Spicy Chili Sauce “Blood Drip Dip”
You will need:
• 1/4 cup honey
• 3/4 cup mayonnaise
• 1/2 cup chili sauce
Make it: This dip might be the easiest of them all. Mix all ingredients, besides ¼ cup of the chili sauce in a bowl. Dispense into your serving dish and top it with a drizzle of “bloody” chili sauce.
Once our dips were ready, it was time to EAT. We had a blast relaxing in the beautiful fall weather while enjoying some snacks. Talk about a perfect afternoon escape from NYC.
As ladies who truly LOVE to snack, Halloween is the perfect holiday to celebrate. There are just so many ways to get fun and creative with food, especially when our favorite chip brand provides amazing flavors that inspire us.
A big thanks to Kettle Brand chips for never disappointing us with a party snack that keeps EVERYONE happy!
