A Birthday Party fit for Super Girls

One of our favorite clients reached out to us a few months ago to help her plan a joint birthday party for her daughters, turning 5 and 8.  With everything that has been going on in the world, she chose a Super Girls theme to encourage female empowerment, and we could not have been more on board.

Our client has a beautiful home with the perfect brick driveway in the front so they decided to have the party right there with a heated tent set up over the space.

The Super Girls theme was so fun to work with. we created a palette of black, white, hot pink and gold to play with. We set up different areas within the tent. On one end there were kids tables where each child could sit and create their own Superhero Cape which was a craft that we worked with Imagination Lane on. The kids were able to wear their capes as soon as they completed their design which was absolutely adorable.

On the opposite side of the tent, we set our food and beverages. There were delicious platters from Poppy's Catering, lots of bubbly for the grown ups, desserts, and a special hot chocolate station.

The custom water bottle labels that Maggie designed were the perfect fit for our Super Girls theme and were so fun to drink out of.

On the opposite end of the food table, we styled a Hot Cocoa Bar with a custom "Power Up Here" sign. We set out hot cups with gold star stickers, cup sleeves and tops for guests to pour their own cocoa.  We set out mini marshmallows, pirouettes, and rock candy crystals so the guests could help themselves to toppings for their hot cocoa.

For dessert, our friends at Sugar Sugar designed the most epic cakes, one for each birthday girl.  They incorporated a superhero of the girls choosing into the design of each cake... Wonder Woman for Lexi and a Super Sea Turtle for Sloane.

As the main focal point of the party, we styled jumbo gold letter balloons that spelled SUPER GIRLS flanked by black and hot pink balloons tied to disco balls.  These balloons doubled as a photo back drop, so we placed super hero themed photo props and a custom sign encouraging people to "Take A Prop" and strike a pose on a nearby table.

Throughout the rest of the tent, we placed cocktail tables for the adults to stand and mingle at.  On each table, we styled gold bud vases with poinsettia's or "Girls Rule" heart shaped balloons.

To entertain the little super heroes, we booked out friend June the DJ of Melinda's Children's Parties to spin some tunes.  DJ June is fabulous, plays the best songs and plays interactive dance games with the kids making the dance floor the hot spot for the afternoon.

When the kids were looking for a dance break, they headed over to get some super hero-worthy face art by Kellie of Fabulous Faces.

After June finished her set and the cake was cut and served, the kids headed out to the Tumblebus that the birthday girls' Mom had booked, which is a school bus filled with gymnastic mats and fun kid-friendly obstacles.

This party was such a blast and especially after watching the Golden Globes last night, the Super Girls theme just couldn't have been timed more perfectly. The world is changing and it's up to us to educate and empower our children to make the future a better place. Want to give you a huge thanks to Colette for always believing in our company and supporting our business. You are the most amazing mother and we feel so lucky to be a part of your family's celebrations.
